Mostly.

Yeah I'm not sure about the stuff they did together... you bring up good questions. I'm guessing it was Towner than did those things, and blamed some of it on Lyndley. It seemed like she blamed the more "promiscuous" (for lack of a better word) stuff on Lyndley. Like Towner said she discovered Lyndley in the car, having sex with Jack... and Lyndley was the one to give her number to that guy... stuff like that. And Lyndley was the one being sexually abused... so anything "sexual" was Lyndley. Maybe?

Like I said, a second time through this book would be immensely helpful!!Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09414297305114641225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243596429219285675.post-64727273211082603572009-06-12T19:24:12.048-04:002009-06-12T19:24:12.048-04:00Well, those help some. And like I told you, Sarah...Well, those help some. And like I told you, Sarah, the revelation at the end that there is no Lyndley at all, certainly cleared up the whole Jack issue for me. I couldn't figure out why Jack would date Towner after Lyndley left that one summer. Now we know that Towner and Lyndley are the same, so Jack was only involved with the one girl.

But I'm still confused about some things in the story. Like all the stuff that Towner and Lyndley supposedly did "together." Like the day they went to Harvard. Did Towner go by herself and just make up all the stuff about Lyndley being with her, giving Eva's phone number to that guy, etc?

Nothing really important I guess. And Towner said at the beginning that she was a liar and crazy. So knowing what's true and what's not is tricky.

I don't really have any insights on the book. I did like the excerpts from "The Lace Reader's Guide" (or whatever it was called) that appeared at the beginning of most of the chapters. They seemed to give clues as to what would happen next or how we should look at the story.Melvin and Carlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18256862979692568602noreply@blogger.com
