People in the book club are telling me that they are having a hard time getting through Beloved. Or they are telling me that they haven’t read it all and don’t plan on it. Has anyone finished it? Or is anyone having any success in reading it?
Also – once again, I am looking for book suggestions for April. Let me know (or post a comment) if you have any ideas. Thanks!

I would love to read Beloved, and I even checked it out from the library, but have yet to start it. Life has been very busy this month and I have a book club for church on Thursday and I haven't started that book either! Doesn't look like I'll get to it. Sorry for being a slacker. Next month should be a lot easier for me.
I got it from the library last week and I have been reading it...I am having a really hard time getting through this one. I want to finish it just to see what it is all about, so I am planning on finishing it, but there are times I feel like I am reading Shakespere and I try to stop and try to figure it out, try to get the symbolism of it all, but for the most part I just don't "get it" . So in that aspect I am looking forward to see what everyone posts, I am hoping others are getting more insights into this book than I am.Sarah have you finished it?

I just got my copy from the library and started it today. It seems like I might just have to plow through some parts - I already had to stop and reread a few sections to figure out what the author was saying - but I do plan on reading all of it.
I plan on starting the book tonight. This month has also been crazy for me (and it's March Madness so I have been spending my free time watching basketball!) but I am hoping to start the book tonight or tomorrow. I posted some sights that will hopefully help us all out. Keep commenting!
